Mr. Mohit Dhoorundhur
Mr. Mohit Dhoorundhur is the Chairman and an Independent Director of the Board of SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd since mid-March 2020. His career spans over 45 years in serving Mauritius and Africa in leadership positions.
Mr. Dhoorundhur has been an Executive Director of the African Development Bank Group, Director and Chairman of the Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (PTA Bank, now Trade and Development Bank), Alternate Director of the Fonds de Solidarité Africain, and Member of the Technical Committee to operationalise the COMESA Fund.
He has served at Permanent Secretary level at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development and lately, as Director of the Procurement Policy Office. He has been a Councillor at the University of Mauritius and held directorship positions in organisations that include: Chairman of the Board of the Mauritius Civil Services Mutual Aid Association; Director of the Mauritius Housing Company Ltd; the Development Bank of Mauritius Ltd; Development Bank of Mauritius Financial Services; First City Bank; the Mauritius Sugar Bulk Terminal; the National Housing Development Company Ltd; the Cargo Handling Corporation Ltd, the National Transport Corporation; the Central Water Authority, and the Central Electricity Board.
He holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the Delhi University, India and a Diploma in Public Administration and Management from the University of Mauritius. His professional qualifications include a Certificate in Financial Administration in Government from the Centre for Pacific Development & Training, Sydney, Australia and a Certificate in General Management for Senior Executives, Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad, India and participated in a management change course for senior executives at the Civil Service College of Singapore.
Mr. JEAN PAUL AROUFF
Mr. Arouff has been appointed as Senior Adviser and Director of Communications at the Prime Minister’s Office as from January 2020. He was previously the Editor-in-chief of Business Magazine, the leading economic news publications of the Indian ocean islands. Mr Arouff also led publications of The Top 100 Companies of Mauritius, Business Leaders, The Financial Directory, The Directory of Agro-Industry, l’Annuaire de la Communication among others. Mr Arouff has also acted as the country correspondent of international news agency Reuters on economic and financial matters. He holds a Masters in Journalism from Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme de Paris.
Mr. Arouff has 20 years’ experience in journalism, review of economic and financial markets, leading a whole range of publications and interacting with CEO’s and business leaders in the region. He has also served as a member of the Grand Port Savanne District Council from 1998 to 2005.
Mr. Arouff is currently a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Directors of SBM (Bank) Mauritius Ltd and SBM Holdings Ltd respectively.
Mrs. Imalambaal Kichenin
Mrs. Imalambaal Kichenin is a top-level executive with over 19 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector spearheading new ventures, product development, legal structuring and the creation of global distribution networks. She is the founder and current Group Chief Executive Officer of JurisTax Holdings Ltd. Her past experience includes directorship positions in Lex Communications Ltd and Turquoise Promotion Ltd. She holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of London, UK, and is a Member of several professional bodies including the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, the Mauritius Institute of Directors, the Association of Trust and Management Companies and the International Fiscal Association.
Mrs Kichenin is an Independent Director and the Chairperson of Audit Committee of SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd since March 2020.
Mr. Eric Michel Georges Leal
Mr Eric Michel Georges Leal is a top-level executive with over 25 years of experience at Leal & Co. Ltd – a pioneer in the local automotive sector operating since 1970 and part of the Leal Group of Companies, one of the leading conglomerates in Mauritius. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Leal & Co. Ltd, the holding Company of the Group. He had previously occupied the positions of Service Director and Deputy Managing Director at Leal & Co. Ltd. Mr. Leal holds a Bachelor in Arts & Science – Business Administration from the Boston College, USA.
Mr Leal is an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd since March 2020.
Mr. Roodesh Muttylall
Mr Muttylall holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, USA and is a Fellow Member of both The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK and The Chartered Governance Institute, UK. He also holds a Master's Degree in Finance from the University of Mauritius.
Mr Muttylall currently heads the Corporate Finance and Company Secretariat of an organisation. He was formerly the Chief Finance Executive of a Group operating in the hospitality sector. He has also held the position of Financial Controller in a Global Business Company and also had several years of experience in similar positions in the tourism sector. He worked for SBM Group between 2000 and 2001.
Mr Muttylall is also a member on the Board of Governors of the University of Technology, Mauritius.
Mr. Muttylall joined the Board of SBM Holdings Ltd on 30 June 2015 as an Independent Non-Executive Director and is also a Non-Executive Director on the Board of SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd since July 2020.
Mr. Rajcoomar Rampertab, CSK
Mr Rajcoomar Rampertab, is a holder of a BA. (Hons) in Social Science and a Diploma of Higher Education from Middlesex University, London, United Kingdom. He lectured in Law and Sociology in the UK for a number of years.
He holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of East London (UK). He then completed his Legal Practice Course (LPC Solicitors Final) from the College of Law, UK. He practiced as an immigration lawyer in the UK for several years. He also worked as a civil servant and a local government officer before being elected as a Conservative Party local councillor for the Borough of Reigate and Banstead, Surrey, UK from 2007 to 2011 where he was a member of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and also represented the Council on the Reigate and Banstead Sports Council.
From 2011 to 2014, he held the position of Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in a Management Company in Mauritius.
Mr Rampertab is an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd since March 2020.
Mr. Muhammad Azeem Salehmohamed
Mr. Muhammad Azeem Salehmohamed is currently Advisor on Economic Matters to the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development.
Upon his return from the UK, he held the position of Economist at the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI).
Mr. Salehmohamed has served as board member for several organisations, including the SADC Business Council, the SADC Private Sector Task Force on Industrialisation, the National Ocean Council, the Mauritius Standards Bureau, the Economic Commission under the aegis of the National Economic and Social Council, and the High-Level Technical Committee on Doing Business Reforms.
Mr. Salehmohamed is presently a Board Member of the Development Bank of Mauritius (DBM).
Mr. Salehmohamed holds a BA (Honours) in Economics, Politics, and International Studies from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. His fields of expertise include economic planning, policy analysis and strategy development.

Mr. VISVANADEN SOONDRAM
Mr. Soondram is the Director of Economic and Finance at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. He has a fruitful career spanning over 25 years within the same Ministry where he has previously served as Accountant and Lead Analyst. Mr. Soondram is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds a Master degree in Finance. He has been a Non-Executive Director on the Board of SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd from November 2018 to March 2020.
He is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Directors of SBM (Bank) Mauritius Ltd and SBM Holdings Ltd respectively.
Mr. Ranapartab Tacouri
Mr Ranapartab Tacouri has a long and eminent career spanning over 50 years in both the academic and financial sectors. He has previously been the Managing Director of the Bank of Mauritius; Managing Director of the Development Bank of Mauritius and CEO of First City Bank. He has held directorship positions on several Boards including Bourse Africa and the Bank of Mauritius. He holds a BA (Hons) in Economics and a Master's degree in Economics from Poona University, India.

Mr. Parvataneni Venkateswara Rao (“PV Rao”)
Mr Parvataneni Venkateswara Rao is an experienced banking professional with 36 years of working experience in the industry. Graduated from the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (India) and holder of an MBA from the Indira Gandhi National Open University, Mr PV Rao is also a Diploma Holder in Bank Management, International Banking, Treasury Investment & Risk Management and Financial Services. He started his Banking career in Syndicate Bank in India and also worked with IndusInd Bank in India before joining SBM (Indian Operations) in December 2010. Mr PV Rao then joined SBM Bank Mauritius Ltd in April 2013 as Head of Financial Markets and was subsequently appointed as Chief Executive of the Bank on 17th April 2019.
During his career, Mr PV Rao has had exposure to different banking segments viz Agriculture, Retail Banking Foreign Exchange, Treasury, Capital Markets and Balance Sheet Management.
Mr PV Rao is an Executive Director on the Board of SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd since October 2018.
Ms. Oumila Sibartie
Ms. Oumila Sibartie is a multi-faceted financial professional with over 22 years of experience in global financial markets including the U.S.A., U.K. and Mauritius.She is the co-founder and Director at Lineage Investment Services Ltd, a licensed and regulated corporate finance advisory firm. She has worked for Bloomberg LP for 11 years in the U.S.A. and London where she was instrumental in major projects for global investment banks and asset management clients. Ms. Sibartie has occupied management positions at top financial institutions in Mauritius, including Markets Business Development Manager at ABSA Bank Mauritius (ex-Barclays Bank Mauritius) and Fund Manager at SBM Mauritius Asset Managers Ltd operating under the aegis of SBM (NBFC) Holdings Ltd. During her career, she has been heavily involved in several areas of the financial markets including multi-asset fund and portfolio management, research, investment advisory, implementation of trading systems and development of structured investment product solutions and training.
In addition to a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Akron, U.S.A., she holds the ACI Dealing Certificate from the Financial Markets Association, France and an International Certificate in Wealth and Investment Management from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI), U.K., of which she is an active member. Ms. Sibartie is also a Fellow Member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors.

Mr. Coomarah Chengan
Mr. Coomarah Chengan has over 30 years of experience in the public services sector during which he occupied various positions within the Mauritius Police Force (MPF) including those of Police Sergeant, Police Sub Inspector and Police Inspector. He is a consultant in Business Administration, Management and Marketing for Small and Medium Enterprises. Mr. Chengan is also a Member and President of several socio-cultural organisations across the country and is very active on the social front. He has initiated and collaborated on several projects advocating for the fight against poverty and supporting needy children, amongst others. He holds an MBA, a BSc in Police Studies and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Mauritius. Mr. Chengan has also participated in various workshops and training programmes related to his duties in the public services sector.
